Letter from Judy to Jill 24 Mar 1975 – We are hoping to go away for a few days to one of the National Parks – we will be able to stay in chalets which are reasonably cheap as Pickfords still haven’t got around to shipping our stuff, so we haven’t got our tents. Letter… Continue reading Shipping our belongings.

Our minibus was originally blue and we jointly owned it with Elaine & Geoff Shepard in Bristol. Dad had its colour changed from pale blue to pillar box red before we had it shipped from England. Letter from Judy to Nanny & Grandad Feb 21 1975 – We will ask Nationwide to send our Pass Book and the cheque to you. Letter from Graham to Simon and Pat 16 Feb 1975 – Today I went for a long walk and discovered a small village where the inhabitants were Moslems and spoke the language of the coast people 300 miles away. About

In January 1975, just one day after my 12th birthday, my family flew to Kenya. Dad, Graham, had taken a two and a half year contract with the UK Government’s Overseas Development Agency to teach. My sisters Helen & Fiona were nearly 8 and 5. Mum, Judy, did a lot of the letter writing and our grandparents Nanny & Grandad (Mum’s parents) and Grandma & Grandad kept all/most of the letters they received so we ended up with this amazing archive. I have not edited wording, only cut and used the paragraphs I think relevant to the topic.
