Letter from Judy to Caroline & Martin 20 Sept 1976 –

Christine and David (Meyer) were ambushed and beaten up about 100yds from the gate of Alliance Girls School by a gang who put rocks across the road and hefted stones through the car window. Fortunately another car came up before too much damage was done or their car taken – presumably the object of the attack – so that they only got David’s watch and about 100/-. Still, David’s face is not a pretty sight (they were only armed with sticks thank goodness) and Christine’s ankle damaged – presumably when she was dragged out of the car – she is understandably shaken up. They had the ill-fated Ann Cameron in the back. Everyone is a bit alarmed especially as it was only 9pm and actually on the road to the Girls School.

Letter from Judy to Tony & Barbara 6 Oct 1976 –

There seems some theory that Christine & David’s ambushers were laying in wait for someone specific (not the Meyers) and were not sure what to do when they got the Meyers instead, so they only beat them up fairly lightly.
