The weather has turned fine, with hot sunshine every day. A breeze prevents us from getting too hot and the swimming pool is available to us the second half of every afternoon.
Letter from Juliet to Nanny & Grandad 2 Feb 1976 –
Now it really is the hot weather. It rained once in the last month and that was last night. The grass is very brown and dry now and we enjoy swimming.
Letter from Juliet to Grandma and Grandad 15 Mar 1976 –
The weather is holding out well and it is very hot although it sometimes rains which is good for the garden.
Letter from Judy to Grandma & Grandad 29 Mar 1976 –
We have been making the best of the lovely weather by being out as much as possible. Fiona, Helen and Graham’s hair has been quite bleached by the sun and we are all very tanned.
Letter from Judy to Nanny & Grandad 25 Oct 1976 –
We are beginning to wonder if the short rains are going to appear this year here – although much of Kenya has had normal or above rainfall this year, our particular area has been very dry. From a purely selfish point-of-view it’s very nice to have plenty of sunshine and not to have to worry about the state of the roads.
